We took a special trip to Centennial Park to see these new bad*ss ladies gracing the lawn: Anne Dallas Dudley, Abby Crawford Milton, J. Frankie Pierce, Sue Shelton White and Carrie Chapman Catt. These women played a vital role in women gaining the right to vote in Tennessee — the 36th state to pass the 19th amendment on August 18, 1920. The statue, created by Alan LeQuire and unveiled Friday, joins a small number, less than 8%, of all public figurative monuments in the U.S. that feature women. #girlpower
