When my dad passed, my Uncle Dean told me that although people say you lost your dad, you haven’t. You haven’t lost him. And that single comment helped me more than any other during that time. I don’t have the single right thing to say today, but I’ll miss you, Uncle Dean. Your kindness and encouragement (& humor) will continue to shape the person I hope to be. Much love to my family & friends today and the hard days to come. ❀️ Here’s a photo with Ellenor at about 6 weeks.

Several weeks ago I took the girls to a bookstore & let them pick out one item. El found this box set and she was set! She wasn’t interested in anything else. When we got home and opened it, her face fell with disappointment. She didn’t realize the box had books in it. She thought it was full of paw patrol toys. She cried and cried and cried. We put the box away, as she wasn’t interested in it at all. Slowly, she’s warmed up to the idea of the books and tonight we read one together, sounding out words & memorizing them. She’s decided she can read now and is ready to go to a “learning school”! πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ“šπŸΆ
