Madilyn had a suggestion that we make Thursday nights Family Night and we agreed that was a good idea. At church we’re in a series called Homework, and it’s about finding God’s design & desire for our homes. It’s been fantastic so far and although it’s hard work, it’s worth the effort we put into it. So these family nights will be a good opportunity to do a little #homework.
We let Madilyn pick the activity, and she chose to go to the playground, and to go roller skating for the first time with some skates we picked up at our cousin’s yard sale last weekend. We drove out to a quaint little area of town called Sylvan Park and picked up some tacos and headed to the playground. We drove around a bit after that and ended up at GiGi’s Cupcakes (our first visit), and bought their last remaining cupcakes for the night. We sang “The Star Spangled Banner” in funny voices on the way home and laughed until our sides hurt (BTW, Madilyn thinks the song says, “…and the bugs bursting in air” …. “oh say does that star spangled banner yet weigh…” “….O’er the land of the freaks and the home of the brave.” We must get her on video singing it.)
This is a beautiful church in the area we drove around tonight:
The Local Taco did not disappoint.
Chicken tacos for me; fish for Jeff. Cheese quesadilla for Madilyn.
Sliding at dusk.
Rollerskating for the first time with some help from Dad.
I love how these photos look like they’re dancing. Doesn’t get any sweeter than this.
McCabe Golf Course at dusk
Last call at GiGi’s!
We are in trouble. Madilyn’s already mastered duck face! Lock her up.
